Ingredients
To Prepare Batter
Idli rice or parboiled rice - 2 cups
Poha - 2 tbsp
Urad dal - 1/2 cup
Methi / fenugreek / vendayam - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Instructions

Lets Prepare Dosa Batter

Wash and soak idli rice / parboiled rice in water. Add 2 tbsp of poha to it.

Wash and soak urad dal and methi seeds in water in separate bowl.
4.
Let it soak overnight or minimum 6 hours.
5.
Drain water and add to blender.
6.
Grind both rice and dal separately to smooth batter.
7.
Add it to mixing bowl, add salt and mix well. (mixing with hands enhances the fermentation process quickly)
8.
Allow the batter to ferment for 7 to 8 hours.

Homemade dosa batter is ready to prepare soft idlies & crispy dosa.
