Hello friends, i got quite a lot of emails for "Mango Pachadi" recipe, so here you go with this authentic, delicious & simple recipe. Mango Pachadi is one of the very special recipe prepared for Tamil New Year which falls on 14th April. It tastes heavenly delicious with sweetness, sourness & tanginess. Its prepared with raw mangoes and jaggery & tempered with mustard seeds, red chilli & neem flowers. Am happy to share my mom's signature recipe of mango pachadi here with you all:)

Yield - 4 servings
Ingredients
Raw mango - 1
Powdered jaggery - 1 cup
Turmeric pwd - a pinch
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard - 1/4 tsp
Cumin - 1/2 tsp
Split urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida pwd or hing - a pinch
Red chilli - 2
Curry leaves - a few
Neem flowers - a few
Salt to taste
Instructions
1.
Grate mango to fine shreds.
2.
Powder jaggery & set it aside.
3.
Heat a kadai or frypan.
4.
Add a tsp of oil.
5.
Add grated mango and saute for 2 mins.
6.
Add salt and turmeric pwd.
7.
Add 1/2 cup of water and toss.
8.
Cover & cook in low flame for 5 mins.
9.
Once the mango is cooked well, add powdered jaggery and stir.
10.
The jaggery dissolves and starts thickening.
11.
Cook for few more mins.
12.
Once the mixture is thickened, turn off flame.
13.
Heat 1 tsp of oil in a small frypan.
14.
Add mustard, cumin, split urad dal, curry leaves, hing and red chilli.
15.
Allow to splutter.
16.
Turn off flame.
17.
Add few fresh or dried neem flowers.
18.
Fry good.
19.
Add to mango pachadi and mix.
20.
That's it...authentic delicious mango pachadi is ready.
