It makes a healthy after school snack to munch along with hot coffee or tea. My kids are big fan of Haldiram's moong dal namkeen. Preparing this tasty crispy snack at home is absolutely easy. In this recipe, the moong dal is washed and soaked, drained & dried and deep fried in hot oil until the shh sound goes on and then spiced up with mild flavorful spices. Ingredients
Moong dal - 2 cups
Red chilli pwd - 1/4 tsp
Chat masala pwd - 1/4 tsp
Oil to deep fry
Salt to taste
Instructions
1.
Wash and soak moong dal in water for minimum 4 hours.
2.
Drain water completely.
3.
Spread it in a white cotton cloth as shown in video.
4.
Let it dry in shade completely. (approx 2 hours)
5.
Heat oil in frypan.
6.
Add the moong dal to the hot oil and deep fry in high flame.
7.
Once the moong dal turns crispy and golden, drain in kitchen tissue.
8.
Add salt, red chilli pwd and chat masala pwd and mix.
9.
Spicy homemade moong dal namkeen is ready.
10.
It makes a healthy combo along with your evening coffee or tea.
