Here comes the spicy & irresistably delicious Indian style mutton sukka recipe. In this recipe the soft chunks of mutton is roasted along with flavorful indian spicy masala until dry. It is well known for its spiciness and you can alter the spice level as per your taste. For this recipe the mutton pieces along with bones tastes more heavenly. It pairs perfect with biryani, rice with rasam or even with roti, chapati, naan, etc. Try it in your home too with this simple video recipe!

Ingredients

To Marinate:

Mutton - 1/2 kg

Yoghurt - 1 tbsp

Turmeric pwd - 1/4 tsp

Red chilli pwd - 1/2 tsp

Garam masala pwd - 1/2 tsp

Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp

Tomato - 1 or 2

Salt to taste

To Make Gravy:

Gingely oil - 2 to 3 tbsp

Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp

Saunf pwd - 1/2 tsp

Red chilli - 2

Onion - 2

Turmeric pwd - 1/4 tsp

Red chilli pwd - 1 tsp

Pepper pwd - 1/2 tsp

Cumin pwd - 1/2 tsp

Garam masala pwd - 1/2 tsp

Coriander pwd - 2 tsp

Curry & coriander leaves

Salt to taste

Instructions

To Marinate:

Clean and wash mutton pieces

Chop them to bite sized pieces.

Add mutton pieces to mixing bowl.

Add yoghurt, turmeric pwd, red chilli pwd, salt, garam masala pwd, ginger garlic paste, mashed tomato and mix well.

Cover the mutton pieces well with masala and allow to marinate for 30 mins.

To Make Curry

Heat 1 tbsp of gingely oil in pressure cooker.

9.

Add the marinated mutton and saute for a minute.

10.

Add curry leaves and 1/2 cup of water.

Cover and pressure cook for 5 whistles in high flame and cook in low flame for 7 mins or until the mutton is cooked tender.

Turn off flame and set it aside.

In a frypan, heat 2 tbsp of gingely oil.

Add cumin seeds and wait to splutter.

15.

Add saunf pwd, curry leaves and red chilli. Toss for few seconds.

Add sliced onions, salt and saute until transculent.

17.

Add cooked mutton along with masala.

Stir well.

Add turmeric pwd, red chilli pwd, cumin pwd, coriander pwd, garam masala pwd or mutton masala pwd and pepper pwd.

Stir well and cook in high flame.

21.

Keep stirring until the gravy thickens.

22.

Sprinkle fresh coriander and curry leaves.

23.

Turn off flame.

24.

Spicy hot delicious pepper mutton roast is ready.

25.

Serve hot with naan, chapati, roti or even with rice dishes.
