Karuvadu fry or dry fish fry is one of the most favorite recipe of all fish lovers. It tastes spicy, delicious and tangy with irresistable aroma. It can be made quickly as well as easily at home. The whole frying process takes almost just 10 mins and makes a tempting meal in any non-vegetarian family. We know dry fish are good source of calcium and we get it in all Indian grocery stores. Ingredients
Karuvadu / dry fish - 10 slices
Gingely oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
Mustard - 1/4 tsp
Cumin - 1/2 tsp
Split urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Onion - 1
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Tomato - 1
Turmeric pwd - 1/4 tsp
Red chilli pwd - 1 tsp
Coriander pwd - 1 & 1/2 tsp
Cumin pwd - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Fresh curry & coriander leaves
Instructions
1.
Clean and wash dry fish thoroughly. Drain water and set aside.

Heat oil in frypan.
3.
Add mustard, cumin, split urad dal and allow to splutter.
4.
Add grated garlic and curry leaves.
5.
Toss for a minute.
6.
Add sliced onions and coriander leaves.
7.
Saute until onions turn transculent.
8.
Add ginger garlic paste and salt.
9.
Toss good.
10.
Add sliced tomato and cook until oil separates.

Add turmeric pwd, red chilli pwd, coriander pwd and cumin pwd.

Saute the masala.
13.
Add 1/4 cup of water and allow to cook.
14.
Once the masala thickens, add the karuvadu (dry fish pieces)
15.
Coat the masala well on fish.
16.
Cover and cook in low flame for 5 mins.
17.
Open the lid and drizzle a tsp of oil.
18.
Roast it in low flame until the curry reaches desired consistency.
19.
Turn off flame.
20.
Garnish with finely sliced curry and coriander leaves.
21.
Spicy Karuvadu fry is ready.

Enjoy hot with sambar rice, rasam rice or any dish of your choice.
