Its easy to prepare this sweet balls and healthy too with the addition of flavorful ghee, saffron and nuts. It has a unique and mouth watering flavor imparted out of ghee roasted gram flour. Besan flour / kadalai maavu - 1 cup
Powdered sugar - 1 cup
Ghee - 6 to 8 tbsp
Cardamom pwd - 1/4 tsp
Chopped almonds & pistachios
Saffron - few strands
Heat fry pan.
Add besan flour and saute in low flame for 5 mins or until fragrant.
Add ghee and saute well.
Add cardamom pwd and toss.
Add finely chopped almond and pistachio nuts.
Add saffron strands and saute.
Once the mixture softens with ghee as shown in video, turn off flame.
Add powdered sugar and mix.
Now try to make small balls out of mixture, while it is hot.
If the mixture is crumbly and couldn't make balls, add few more tsps of ghee or sprinkle some warm milk and mix.
Make balls and arrange in plate.
Garnish with chopped nuts.
Healthy, flavorful delicious homemade besan ladoo is ready.
