Here goes the very easy to follow fish fry recipe that even beginners and bachelor's can try. This popular south Indian style fish fry makes an awesome party appetizer or a great side dish to a meal. In this recipe the fish is marinated in spicy masala and shallow fried or deep fried until golden brown and crisp. Prepare & enjoy hot & fresh fish fry at your home with this easy video recipe!
Ingredients
Whole fishes - 3 to 4 (any fishes like mackeral, seer fish, salmon, tuna, tilapia, trout, cod, etc)
Turmeric pwd - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli pwd - 1 tsp
Coriander pwd - 1 & 1/2 tsp
Cumin pwd - 1/2 tsp
Saunf pwd - 1/2 tsp
Pepper pwd - 1/2 tsp
Sooji / rawa or semolina - 2 tsp
Sliced green chilli - 1 tsp
Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Thick tamarind juice - 2 to 3 tbsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Oil to Shallow fry
Instructions
1.
Clean, wash the fish and drain water thoroughly.

Make some slits on the fish.
3.
In a mixing bowl, add turmeric pwd, red chilli pwd, coriander pwd, cumin pwd, saunf pwd, salt, pepper pwd, sooji (rava or semolina)

Add sliced green chilli, chopped coriander leaves, and mix.
5.
Add ginger garlic paste and thick tamarind juice.
6.
Squeeze few drops of fresh lemon juice and mix.
7.
Combine the mixture to thick masala paste.
8.
Coat the fishes well with spicy masala paste as shown in video.
9.
Let the fishes marinate for minimum 1 hour or preferably overnight.
10.
Heat a dosa pan or any fry pan.
11.
Heat oil and shallow fry the marinated fishes. (also its optional you can deep fry the marinated fish)
12.
Fry until the fishes are cooked completely to crisp and brown on both sides.
13.
Remove from flame.
14.
Serve hot with lemon wedges and onion rings.
