Kadai Paneer
Here goes the quick & irresistable restaurant style Kadai paneer recipe. Its a semi dry gravy version and our most favorite combo for veg biryani, fried rice & with rotis. This most popular paneer dish is prepared with cottage cheese, capsicum, tomato, onion that are cooked with traditional Indian spices. The gravy tastes very flavorful and delicious & an opt recipe to satiate your hunger pangs for dinner.
Ingredients
Paneer - 200 g
Onion - 2
Tomato - 3
Oil - 1 tbsp
Butter - 2 tbsp
Sliced ginger & garlic - 1 tbsp
Green chilly - 2
Bay leaf - 1
Cloves - 4
Cinnamon - 1
Cardamom - 1
Star anise - 1
Cubed red & green bell peppers (capsicum) - 1/2 cup
Turmeric pwd - 1/4 tsp
Red chilly pwd - 1 & 1/2 tsp
Coriander pwd - 2 tsp
Cumin pwd - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala pwd - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves
Instructions
1.
Wash and slice paneer to fine cubes.
2.
Heat oil in a frypan.
3.
Add onions and toss till golden.
4.
Add tomatoes and cook to soft.
5.
Add sliced ginger and garlic and saute for a minute.

Turn off flame and allow to cool.
7.
Add to blender and grind to fine paste.

Set it aside.

Melt butter in pan.
10.
Add the sliced paneer cubes and saute to golden.

Remove and set aside.

Heat oil / butter in frypan.
13.
Add bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and star anise.

Wait to splutter.
15.
Add green chilly and cubed onions.

Toss for a minute.

Now add cubed red and green bell peppers / capsicum.

Stir for few seconds and add the freshly ground masala paste. (step 8)

Mix well.

Add turmeric pwd, red chilly pwd and salt.
21.
Add coriander pwd, cumin pwd and garam masala pwd.
22.
Add little water and allow the masala to cook.
23.
Once the curry reaches the desired consistency, add the paneer cubes.
24.
Sprinkle dried kasoori methi leaves.
25.
Turn off flame.
26.
Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.

Lipsmacking colorful delicious Kadai Paneer is ready.
