Chettinad Chicken Chukka
Here is the special chicken recipe that is delicious, flavorful & dry dish that is packed with great flavors. In this recipe, chicken is cooked in thick spicy masala. Its very quick, easy and simple to prepare at home. Try this easy video recipe and enjoy the real treat along with roti.
Chicken - 1/2 kg
Onion - 2
Tomato - 3
Yoghurt - 3 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Cumin - 1/2 tsp
Bay leaf - 2
Cinnamon - 2
Cardamom - 1
Cloves - 4
Star anise - 1
Green chilly - 1
Turmeric pwd - 1/4 tsp
Red Chilly pwd - 2 tsp
Coriander pwd - 3 tsp
Pepper pwd - 1 tsp
Cinnamon pwd - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala pwd - 1/2 tsp
Fresh lemon juice - few drops
Salt to taste
Clean and wash the chicken.
Add it to mixing bowl, add turmeric pwd, red chilly pwd, ginger garlic paste, salt and yoghurt.
Add finely sliced onion and tomato.
Transfer to pressure cooker. Add 1/2 cup water and mix.
Pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistles.
Once the pressure goes off, mix the contents and set aside.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add cumin and wait to splutter.
Add bayleaf, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and star anise.
Allow to crackle.
Add green chilly and finely sliced onions.
Saute till golden.
Add turmeric pwd, pepper pwd, red chilly flakes, coriander pwd, cumin pwd and cinnamon pwd.
Add the cooked chicken along with masala.
Taste and adjust salt and seasonings.
Boil until the masala thickens.
Once the curry is thick, turn the flame to low and roast the chicken.
Stir once in a while to ensure the chicken is roasted evenly on all sides.
Sprinkle garam masala pwd.
Squeeze fresh lemon juice and turn off flame.
Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
Lipsmacking delicious dry chicken sukka is ready.
