Hello friends, today I am here with one of the favorite South Indian traditional Mor Kuzhambu video recipe. I learnt this delicious recipe from my Grandma, who is excellent in preparing authentic dishes. This curry makes a comfort food, when you have lots of yoghurt and is very simple to prepare. We can add any veggies or vadas to make this kuzhambu. Try this scrumptious recipe and you will surely love it.
Ingredients
To soak
Raw rice - 2 tbsp
Toor dal - 2 tbsp
Urad dal - 2 cups
To make Mor kuzhambu
Yoghurt - 200 g
Turmeric pwd - a pinch
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard - 1/4 tsp
Cumin - 1/2 tsp
Split urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Red chilly - 2
Hing - a pinch
Coriander leaves
Curry leaves
salt
To make Vada
Urad dal - 2 cups
Green chilly - 2
Sliced onions - 1 cup
Fresh curry & coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Instructions

To soak

wash and soak raw rice and toor dal in water.

Allow to soak for 1 hour.

For preparing vadas, wash and soak urad dal with water separately in a bowl.

Allow to soak for 30 mins.

To make Mor Kuzhambu

Meanwhile, add yoghurt to blender.
8.
Add salt and turmeric pwd.
9.
Blend to smooth paste.

Heat oil in a fry pan.

Temper with curry leaves, mustard, cumin and split urad dal.

Allow to splutter.
13.
Add red chillies and toss.

Add soaked raw rice, toor dal, green chilly and cumin seeds to mixie and grind to smooth paste.

Add this paste to yoghurt mixture.

Mix well.

Add this to the frypan.

Stir well and allow to boil.

Once the mixture starts foaming, add hing and turn off the flame.

Taste and adjust salt.

Sprinkle freshly chopped coriander leaves.

Lipsmacking Mor Kuzhambu is ready.

To make Vadas:

Lets see how to make crispy vadas to soak in mor kuzhambu.

Drain the water from the soaked urad dal.

Add it to blender.

Add salt, green chilly and grind to coarse paste.

Transfer to mixing bowl.

Add finely sliced onions, curry and coriander leaves.

Mix well.

Heat oil in frying pan to deep fry the vadas.

Wet your hands with water and take a small ball of the batter.

Pat it flat,

Drop it gently in hot oil.

Deep fry both sides to crisp and golden in medium flame.

Drain the crispy Vadas in kitchen tissue.

To make Thayir Vada:

Take warm water in a small bowl.

Drop the vadas in the water.
40.
Immerse it for few minutes, till it becomes soft and spongy.

Now squeeze the water from the vadas and drop them in mor kuzhambu.

Mix well and allow to soak for an hour.

Creamy delicious Thayir Vadai Kuzhambu is ready.

Serve it with hot steamed white rice.
