Here I am with an ideal comforting recipe for this cold winter days. Garlic Rasam is a delicious soup, which is rich in flavor and has loads of medicinal benefits. Its very good for digestion, sore throat and for common cold and cough. My mom used to prepare this frequently and we love to have it with hot rice & ...spicy potato fry as side dish. Lets see how to make Garlic Rasam with this easy recipe..!
Ingredients
Cocoa pwd - 1 ½ tbsp
All purpose flour - ¾ cup
Sugar - ½ cup
Milk - ½ cup
Baking pwd - ¼ tsp
Baking soda - ¼ tsp
Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
Cooking oil - 2 tbsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Instructions
1.
Wash and soak tamarind in warm water for 10 mins

Take out thick tamarind water and discard the pulp
3.
Cook dal in 1 cup of water and keep the dal water ready
4.
Heat ½ tsp of oil in a fry pan
5.
Add chana dal, hing, curry leaves, garlic, red chilly and coriander seeds
6.
Saute it for 2 minutes
7.
Turn off the flame

Allow to cool

And grind it in blender to coarse powder

Fresh and aromatic rasam powder is ready

Heat 1 tsp of oil in the same pan

Add crushed garlic, cumin seeds and curry leaves

Saute for a minute

Add thick tamarind water and combine
15.
Add 2 cups of warm water, turmeric pwd and salt

Smash tomatoes and add it to the rasam

Add the dal water

Mix well

Allow to boil

Meanwhile heat a tsp of oil in a small pan

Add mustard, cumin, split urad dal, red chilly, curry leaves and garlic

Wait to splutter and turn off the flame

Once the rasam starts boiling, simmer the flame

Add 2 tsp of freshly ground rasam pwd ( step 9)

Stir well

Finally, add the seasonings from the small frypan

Turn off the flame and sprinkle freshly chopped coriander leaves
