Today’s recipe is colorful & healthy Beetroot Chapati / roti. Usually, for dinner, my hubby always prefer to have chapatis. Yesterday, I made a little twist to regular roti using beetroot and the taste is awesome. This option is packed full of nutrition and so happy my kid loved this colorful dish and it became her favorite too..! Try this absolutely delicious recipe and give a spicy dimension to the sweet beetroot..:)
Ingredients
Beetroot - 1 small sized
Whole wheat flour - 2 cups
Cumin pwd - ½ tsp
Red chilly pwd - ½ tsp
Ghee / clarified butter - 1 tsp
Butter or oil - to fry
Salt to taste
Instructions
1.
Wash and peel off the skin of beetroot.
2.
Grate it very finely.
3.
Take a mixing bowl and add the grated beetroot.
4.
Add cumin pwd, salt, red chilly pwd and ghee.
5.
Mix all the ingredients.
6.
Add whole wheat flour and knead to smooth dough.
7.
Sprinkle little water if needed and knead well.
8.
The dough should be soft and sticky.
9.
Divide them into small portions.
10.
Dust the ball with flour and roll it to rotis.
11.
Heat tawa and put the rotis.
12.
Cook them on both side by drizzling oil to the sides.
13.
Enjoy the nice aroma and color of the rotis.
14.
Apply butter / ghee to the cooked chapatti ( optional ). It will give nice flavor.

The delicious Beet Chapatis are ready to have.

It makes an awesome combo with any of your favorite chutneys, curries or raitha.
