Easy Christmas Cake | Christmas Cake
I watched this stunning moist, easy-to-follow Christmas Cake recipe in a TV cookery show last week. I’ve tried this recipe and it came out absolutely delicious. This is one of the simplest Christmas cakes around. I altered the recipe slightly to make it much more easy for someone like me , who is a non-baker..:( [ you can alter it to suit yourself ]. My family loved this incredibly tasty Christmas cake..! Here is the recipe of the celebration cake - give it a try and receive praise from your loved ones..:)
Butter - 175 g
Sugar - 1 cup
Eggs - 3
Cinnamon pwd - 1 tsp
Nutmeg pwd - ½ tsp
Chopped almond, walnuts - 2 to 3 tbsp
Zest of lemon - 1 tsp
Orange juice - 2 tbsp
Raisins - 8 to10
Maida flour - 1 cup
Baking pwd - ½ tsp
Cherry & almond nuts for garnishing
Put the butter in a large bowl.
Add sugar to it and stir well, until the butter is melted and incorporated.
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with an electronic beater.
Continue beating until it forms frothy texture.
Add the beaten egg to the pan.
Now add cinnamon pwd, nutmeg pwd, chopped nuts, orange juice, zest of lemon raisins.
Sift the flour, baking powder into the pan and mix.
Stir in gently, until there are no traces of flour left.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 degree celcius.
Take the cake tin and apply oil at the bottom, line it with butter paper.
Now spoon the cake mixture into the tin and smooth it down evenly.
Bake for 25 to 30 mins or until the cake is dark golden in appearance and firm to touch.
To check the cake is done, insert a fine skewer into the centre, if it comes out clean cake is cooked.
Leave the cake to cool in the tin, over a wire rack. ( approx 30 mins )
When its cold, invert it from the tin, peel off the lining paper.
Delicious , easy to make Christmas Cake is ready.
Garnish with sliced cherry & almonds.
