I am sharing today, a simple sweet recipe from South Indian Delicacies...! This is the first time I prepared this sweet murukku and it came perfect and tasty ! It has two steps like making plain murukku in first step and then mixing with sugar syrup. Here is the recipe for this sweet and tasty snack..!
Ingredients
Maida flour ( all purpose flour ) - 4 cups
Urad dal pwd - ½ cup
Bengal gram pwd - ½ cup
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Butter - 1 tbsp
Sugar - 1 ½ cups
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
Instructions
1.
Take maida flour in a wide bowl, and steam in pressure cooker for 2 whistles.
2.
Mix maida flour, urad dal pwd ( roasted without oil and powdered ) , Bengal gram pwd well.
3.
Add cumin seeds, salt and butter.
4.
Sprinkle little water and knead to soft dough.
5.
Keep the dough covered for 5 minutes.
6.
Fill the dough in the murukku press.
7.
Heat oil in a fry pan .
8.
When the oil is hot, press the murukku into the oil.
9.
Keep the heat in medium and fry till golden brown.
10.
Remove and drain excess oil.
11.
Make sugar syrup in 2 string consistency with sugar and water.
12.
Drop little by little the muruku pieces and remove immediately.
13.
Place it in a dry plate and allow to cool.
14.
Lipsmacking sweet murukku ready to enjoy…!
