Red Chutney is a delicious & versatile Indian condiment goes with just about anything from Idly, dosas to sandwiches, chats, grilled chicken, burgers, fish, etc. This will add a liitle zing to any dish..! This spicy and hot chutney is made with lots of red chillies, tomatoes and lemon juice. This chutney or sauce is relished in South Indian hoseholds as tasty side dish with breakfast menus..! Ingredients
Red chilly - 5
Oil - 1 tbsp
Tomato - 2
Ginger - small piece
Garlic - 3 to 4 pods
Cumin - ½ tsp
Split channa dal - ¼ cup
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Instructions
1.
Soak red chillies in warm water for 2 hours.
2.
Heat oil in a fry pan.
3.
Sauté grated ginger, garlic, cumin and tomatoes.
4.
Allow to cool.
5.
Now grind red chilly with all the other ingredients.
6.
Add little water, salt and grind to smooth paste.
7.
Transfer to a bowl.
8.
Add lemon juice and mix well.
9.
Hot and spicy red chutney ready to taste

This chutney makes a very good combination with hot Idly, spongy dosa, crispy adai and can also be used in chats…!!!
